$350.00The Story
Something old, something new, something borrowed, nothing blue... this banjo charms with its wedded newer 5-string conversion neck on a vintage Gibson TB-1 trapdoor pot assembly. transparent dark finish on maple rim and bound trapdoor resonator plate. Gloss finish on stained neck. We believe the 5-string conversion neck was made by Tom George of Tennessee, made of a two-piece flamed maple with a dark center strip and peghead overlay. Appointed with a binding on the ebony fretboard, pearl dot inlays, and possibly re-used headstock inlays in the 'moccasin' styled peghead. Newer modern tuners, otherwise hardware appears original. The vintage pot features wire armrest, grooved tension hoop, engraved tailpiece, tubular flange, simple holed tube tone ring on (non-spring) ball-bearings. Includes hard shell case. Made in USA.
