Manufactured by J.B. Schall in Chicago for the V. Kraske line of banjos around the turn of the 20th century. After his own company Victor Kraske went on to work for Gibson and was awarded various patents for instrument components over his career. This instrument has similarities to models made for Waldo, and some of JB Schall's own banjos. This "Baxter's Model" banjo features a large 12-7/8" fully clad rim, with 34 tensioning brackets, and a new hide head. Also adorned with engraved metal inlays on the ebony headstock and fretboard, and a replacement engraved heel plate (by our shop). The planetary tuners with ivoroid buttons are a modern upgrade. NO CASE. Made in USA.
